What: Designed to be a one-stop shop for job candidates, the Flash Career Fair allows participants to meet with a variety of employers from hotels, restaurants, and other tourism fields. The Flash Career Fair is part of a citywide effort to assist job seekers in finding positions in the hospitality and tourism industry. The last Flash Career Fair in District D was at the Historic Carver Theater and brought out nearly 200 job seekers – some of these participants have already been hired!
Why: In New Orleans, tourism provides more than 80,000 jobs in fields like guest relations, housekeeping, finance, administration, food and beverage service, and more. Each job represents an opportunity for growth to move up in a company while enjoying employee benefits. A job in hospitality and tourism – which could start by a visit to the Flash Career Fair – is the basis for a lasting and fulfilling career in New Orleans.
