Identical Twins, Identical Careers in Tourism

For the Reyes brothers, hospitality runs in the family. Not only are Jerry and Ramon Reyes identical twins, but they also both work in the very same position in the very same industry in the very same city. Talk about twinning! Jerry serves as the general manager at the Hotel Modern New Orleans while his brother, Ramon, works as general manager at the Omni Riverfront.

Both men started in entry-level hospitality jobs and had similar trajectories leading them to their current positions. Ramon started as a doorman and Jerry started as a server – ironically, his first job was in the very same hotel where Ramon is now general manager. They continued to move through the ranks all the way up to the top, showcasing a commitment to excellent customer service along the way.

“In this industry, what sets us apart from the competition are the people,” says Ramon. Jerry (unsurprisingly) finishes Ramon’s sentence: “It’s that Southern hospitality,” Jerry says. “We really do live and breathe it here.”
