Louis Armstrong International Airport is an incredible economic asset for our community, providing 5,000 direct jobs and about 53,000 more that are indirectly associated with the airport’s work. Still, there’s always room for growth, says Iftikhar Ahmad, director of aviation. “I hope that we use {tourism} to diversify to bring other kinds of industries here,” he says.
