From gourmet Creole dishes to a good old fashioned crawfish boil, we do it like no other, which is why no other city could properly take on a challenge like the one Zatarain’s is undertaking. And New Orleans, it’s time to show the world what we’re made of.
The World’s Largest Crawfish Boil

On May 10, Zatarain’s is throwing the World’s Largest Crawfish Boil to celebrate their 125th anniversary. From noon to 6 p.m. in Champions Square, they will be boiling 25,000 pounds of crawfish; $3 will get you 3 pounds, and a place in crawfish history. This momentous event is free and you can peel and eat to the sounds of New Orleans funk-rock bands Flow Tribe and Big Sam’s Funky Nation. Officials will be there certifying in the categories of “Largest Attendance at a Crawfish Boil in a Single Day” and “Largest Amount of Pounds Boiled at a Crawfish Boil in a Single Day.”
Not only will this event secure our place as the kings of crawfish, as well as provide us with a great excuse to come together as a community, but all of the food and drink proceeds will go to Second Harvest Food Bank, so you’ll be eating for a good, local cause.
Besides the glory and satisfaction this massive crawfish boil will bring us, an event like this cements our place as one of the most unique and charismatic cities in the hearts and minds of people all over the world, further fueling our number one industry of tourism. The World’s Largest Crawfish Boil will give back to our community in more ways than one.
