It’s time to get out and vote! There are few civic duties as important and influential as voting. By participating in local, state, and federal elections, you are exercising your right to have your voice heard. No matter your political leanings or ideology, it’s critical to our democracy and the betterment of our communities that you vote this election cycle.
In Louisiana this year, there is a U.S. Senate seat on the ballot, U.S. House of Representatives seat for some, and Louisiana State Senate race for District 5. Additionally, each parish will be holding local elections. You can learn more about the local races specific to you and view a sample ballot by using the LA Secretary of State website.
There will be 11 amendments to the Louisiana State Constitution on the ballot for voters to consider. They will be split between the November and December elections. To review these proposed amendments, download The Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana’s guides which offer non-partisan information on each.
The right to vote allows us to have a say in how our community develops. When we take advantage of that right, we are fulfilling a sacred obligation that allows the social contract to be fulfilled. We encourage everyone who can to get out and vote this November 8th and December 10th.
