From March 11 through March 18, New Orleans Entrepreneur Week will celebrate entrepreneurship, innovation and creative thinking as part of this weeklong annual business festival.
We’ve looked at entrepreneurship from a cultural perspective, but New Orleans, recently named both a tech and innovation hub, also features many entrepreneurs delving into creative business ideas and startups.
Take a look at what’s on deck for the 2016 New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) below.
A Robust Schedule
NOEW offers dozens of panels of relevance to entrepreneurs, including lectures on the future of New Orleans startups, veterans transitioning from combat to careers, startup branding best practices, education innovation pitches, a women’s business summit, health entrepreneurship, and much, much more.
The Idea Village produces NOEW, and last year they saw record-breaking levels of participation: more than 10,000 individuals attended the conference, 121 unique entrepreneurial companies were showcased, and nearly $250,000 in startup capital was allocated across different business ventures during NOEW 2015.
Speakers like restaurateur John Besh; Lafawn Bailey, the global head of culture and inclusion at PayPal; Linda Boff, the chief marketing officer at GE; and Steve Case, a co-founder of AOL all add to the excitement.
A Variety of Venues
Fulton Street in downtown (the 600 block near Fulton Alley, to be exact) serves as the main hub for NOEW, where attendees can check in and chat with other professionals. Representatives from Cox Business, UPS, salesforce, IBERIABANK and other businesses will also be on site to demonstrate their newest products and services. Harrah’s Hotel & Casino, the Chicory, Fulton Alley, and Manning’s are just a few of the venues around the area that will host NOEW events.
In addition to speakers and session, NOEW 2016 includes dedicated venues for networking and making professional connections. Bring your best elevator pitch and prepare to soak up all the entrepreneurial talent this city has to offer! You’ll walk away feeling inspired and refreshed – and ready to harness the power of entrepreneurship.
