The Supplier Diversity Directory was created to enhance local procurement practices and relationships between business entrepreneurs and the hospitality and tourism community. As a cornerstone of the New Orleans economy, the tourism industry can and will be a responsible participant in economic inclusion strategies to better ensure that businesses owned by people of color, women, veterans and other diverse citizens are the beneficiaries of the billions of dollars of economic impact that the industry brings to New Orleans.

Measures to Success:

  • Develop a database for diverse businesses to register as tourism industry vendors, providing real time access to information on capacity, availability and pricing to hospitality businesses
  • Support economic inclusion internally and across the industry through intentional practices for the inclusion of businesses owned by people of color, women, veterans, and other diverse stakeholders
  • Promote pipeline of local entrepreneurs that meet capacity and risk reduction requirements, and are prepared to provide goods and services to hospitality industry corporations and organizations
