New Orleans & Company’s Role in Bringing 2024 Super Bowl To NOLA

Dear Members and Colleagues,

We are thrilled to announce that Super Bowl LVIII in 2024 will return to New Orleans for the first time since 2013. This will be the 11th time New Orleans has hosted the Super Bowl, tying for the most NFL Championship games hosted by a city.

Our team at New Orleans & Company has been hard at work for months with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and the New Orleans Saints on the bid which won us Super Bowl LVIII. Once the NFL invited New Orleans to bid, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation began coordinating the bid components with the Saints, and we gathered hotel and venue availability to present New Orleans as the best choice for 2024. A big thank you to our hotel partners who came together to secure a host hotel, two team hotels and media blocks, but also commitments from hotels to reach the 25,000 peak night commitment that is required to bid. This includes hotels from across the metro area. Without the trust, support and flexibility of our member hotels and venues, this would have been an exercise in futility.

We presented this package to the NFL staff, and after a great deal of discussion regarding room blocks and meeting space options, the NFL was satisfied that our bid met their specifications.  This process took more than 12 months once we received notice that the “no-bid” selection process was a possibility. It was a collaborative effort involving our New Orleans & Company team, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, the New Orleans Saints, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation and the leaders of every hotel in the metro area.

We’re a sports city through and through, and have a history of effortlessly hosting iconic events such as this. The festive environment, vibrant culture and authenticity offers an unparalleled fan experience, making New Orleans the perfect host city and backdrop for one of the largest sporting events in the country.
