New Orleans Day Held During Legislative Session

Held earlier this month during the legislative session, New Orleans Day was a big success. Members of the city’s Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and other local hospitality executives spent the day at the Capitol, meeting with lawmakers to discuss the potential effects of several bills under consideration. Executives also reinforced the importance of an industry that accounts for 10 percent of all Louisiana jobs and 20 percent of total jobs in metro New Orleans. In meetings with Gov. John Bel Edwards, Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and Mayor Mitch Landrieu, among others, tourism executives sought ongoing support and advancement for the industry.
